NRI (Indian): Can my parents prepare and send a power of attorney from India, for purchasing a property in my name? For me to sign and send back to them? I live in the UK. And PoA is for loan purpose or for registration purpose?

 No, that will not be a valid Power of Attorney (POA)

Prepare a POA in India, send it to UK for your sign, and send it back to India for a home loan and deed registration is not a valid procedure to execute a POA.

Because when your parents prepare POA in India, your presence requires in sub-registrar office in India for your fingerprint verification and webcam photo, therefore your parents may not able to send a registered POA to UK

Instead of your parents prepare a POA for you, you can prepare a POA in UK and send it to India for registration.

Below is the step-by-step procedure that how we prepared the POA in UK and sent it to India for property deed registration and home loan clearance.

Step 1: Prepare a POA draft in word format, if you don’t have a draft, please write to us. we help you with the draft

Step 2: Print the draft on normal A4 size paper.

Step 3: Attach your passport size photo at the last page of your POA

Step 4: Take an appointment from an Indian consulate in UK or notary public near you.

Step 5: Meet the Indian consulate or notary public. You should sign the POA in front consulate officer or a notary public. You should sign on all pages of POA.

Get the POA attested from Indian consulate or notary public

Step 6: Send the Attested POA to your attorney in India through a reputed shipping partner (preferably DHL or FedEx)

Step 7: Your attorney holder should get the POA adjudicated from district registrar office, in the jurisdiction where the property you intent to buy or sell in India.
