How to make an affidavit of one and the same person in India?

Here is the step by step procedure to make an affidavit,

Step 1: Prepare affidavit draft in word format.

Step 2: Print affidavit draft on non-judicial e-stamp paper ( Buy an e-stamp paper from nearest co-operative bank, court, and register office. A Rs.100 stamp value would be standard for affidavit execution)

Step 3: Carry the printed affidavit and supporting document for notary reference. Supporting documents like Aadhar, passport, or mark sheet.

Step 4: Notary Public read the affidavit. You or a deponent should sign the affidavit in front of notary public.

Step 5: Notary Public seal and sign an affidavit. Make an entry in notary book

This completed the execution of affidavit.

Duration to execute an affidavit is to buy stamp paper, print affidavit, and meet notary lawyer. For me, it takes maximum of 30 min to complete affidavit execution.

The cost for affidavit execution is as below.

  • E-Stamp value is Rs. 100/-
  • Vendor charge for processing e-stamp paper is Rs. 10/-
  • Printing affidavit: Rs, 5/-
  • lawyer fee is Rs. 30/-
  • Total cost for affidavit execution is Rs. 145/-

Documents requires to execute an affidavit as below,

  • Any of your government approved ID proof like aadhar, passport, or driving license
  • Any of the specific supporting document for your intended purpose to execute affidavit like degree certificate, mark sheet, employment letter, marriage certificate, bank statement etcetera

Supporting documents should be photocopy, however, should carry original at the time of notary, as notary may cross verify original.
