A rental agreement can be prepared to minimum of 1 day to maximum of 99 years.

Any duration of a rental agreement should pay the required stamp duty, which is even 1 day or maximum to 99 years.

In Karnataka, For 5 months rental agreement, you may use Rs. 100/- non-judicial e-stamp paper. E-stamp paper is available at your nearest co-operative bank, court, or register office.

No need to register a rental agreement. Registration is mandatory for the agreement duration of more than 11 months. Generally, an agreement is registered at respective sub-register office.
